Add-ons

Biblical Greece can provide the following additions to any tour.  If your group has another suggestion in mind for an extra activity, please feel free to let us know.  We can organize any activity according to your group’s desires.  For example, your group can add trips to extra archaeological sites of great importance (see Mycenae, Olympia, and Epidaurus under sites). Furthermore, several days of relaxation can be added to allow for the enjoyment of the Greek countryside or islands. Your group also may want to participate in one of the many ministry opportunities we can provide, thus making your trip to Greece an even more rewarding experience.  Below are a few examples of such additions.

One-day cruise to Hydra

Your group will travel from the port of Piraeus to the island of Hydra, located in the Saronic Gulf a short boat-ride away from Athens.  Known for its beautiful harbor and peaceful living (no motor vehicles are allowed on the island), Hydra will offer a relaxing day full of good food and traditional Greek culture both on the sea and in the port.

Two-day trip to Mount Olympus

Your group will travel north to Thessaly to the foot of Mount Olympus, the highest mountain in Greece and the mythological home of the twelve principal Greek gods.  The group can choose to ascend the mountain by car, to participate in a hike with guides, or to reach the summit with rock-climbing experts.  Extra days of camping can also be added on to this trip.

Three-day cruise to Santorini, Patmos, and Ephesus

Your group will leave by ship from Piraeus and travel first to the island of Santorini.  The most picturesque of the Aegean Islands and famous for its sunsets, its shape and steep cliffs were created by a violent volcanic eruption 3,500 years ago.  Next, your group will travel onward to the island of Patmos, where the apostle John was exiled and where he wrote the Book of Revelation.  As part of the tour, group members will travel to the cave believed to be the cave in which John received his visions.  Finally, the tour will move on to Ephesus, located on the western coast of present-day Turkey.  Once the second-largest city in the world, Ephesus also was the location of an early Church which was addressed both in the Paul’s Epistle to the Ephesians and in the Book of Revelation.  This cruise can also follow a different route, in order to allow for more stops.
